Our digital screening questionnaire (New Working Health Screening) is designed to help clients understand potential health concerns that may affect an employee’s ability to perform their duties, to have an awareness of duties that may impact an employee’s health condition and to offer guidance and recommendations on how best to support the individual whilst they are in work.
Efficiency is key which is why our New Working Health Screening, PPQ questionnaire requests can be sent securely at any time through our state-of-the-art portal, Meddbase and once sent, referrers can easily check the status of the questionnaire and access outcome certificates conveniently in one place.
What does it involve?
Curated by our Lead OHP, Head of Psychological Services and Head of Physiotherapy, new Worker health screening provides an independent clinical assessment of a new worker’s health in relation to the role they have applied for. This comprehensive New Working Health Screening helps to significantly reduce work-related health issues and supports employees in performing their duties safely and effectively.
Our New Working Health Screening also links seamlessly into Health Surveillance programmes so that our team can arrange the applicable base-line medical, for example Audio testing or a Safety Critical Medical.
The process is fully secure and completely confidential, and new workers will be asked to provide their informed consent for our clinical team to share fitness certificate with their employer. The certificate won’t include responses to individual questions, however, may provide insight into any declared conditions and include details of reasonable adjustments for consideration.
How will we deliver our services?
How will we deliver New Working Health Screening (PPQs):
- Questionnaires are triggered through Meddbase our secure online portal and usually requested by a recruiting manager, HR or recruitment team.
- Once sent, the new worker receives an email inviting them to complete the questionnaire (and a text message notification). Instructions are included within the invite.
- Upon completion of two-factor-authentication, participants can access the questionnaire which can be saved at any point, if required.
- Participants receive an instant on-screen confirmation that they have completed the questionnaire at the same time, we notify the referrer, so they are also aware.

Following feedback and suggestions about New Worker Screening questionnaires and Night Worker questionnaires we are excited to let you know that we have now completed the development to move questionnaire management into Meddbase.
Having questionnaires (PPQ, Nightworker, HAVS1&2, for example) within Meddbase provides several benefits including:
- Easy questionnaire management
- Visibility of progress and completion
- Alerts from Meddbase to confirm questionnaires have been completed
- Outcome reports are saved in the Employee overview page
- Outcome reports are accessible as and when required

Outcome of the New Working Health Screening
In most cases, outcome certificates are published within a few minutes of receiving a completed questionnaire, however, occasionally, a more detailed follow up review is required which may involve a short call with the new worker. In a small number of cases, escalation to a full OHA or OHP consultation may be recommended. If this is the case, our team will be in touch to let you know and to seek approval to proceed before reaching out to the new worker to arrange the consultation. Or, if you prefer, we can arrange this seamlessly through a delegated authority arrangement.
